Americana Films has announced "The Mirror Maze" for 2012 based on the Book by
Vivi Arnesen, Tom Brungar and Lisa Walker. The Movie will be produced by
Michael Z. Gordon (IMDB). It is a story of a young Norwegian man who becomes involved with a drug cartel. Things get out of hand and although he wants out, he is blackmailed into doing one last deal. He reluctantly agrees and is arrested by the "Policia", as he boards a plane at the Mexico City airport, and sentenced by the Mexican Court to five years of torture and inhumane treatment during the horrendous years he was forced to spend in Mexican Prisons...

This story is about a Norwegian businessman, Tom Brungar, and his increasing drug
problem, which ultimately leads him into an international cocaine trafficking
operation while vacationing in Ibiza. During his "last
deal", he smuggles cocaine from Peru to California and is arrested,
along with his partner, at the Mexico City airport.
Tom then serves five years in a series of Mexican prisons, where he quickly finds that corruption is just as rampant among the officials as in the outside world. Inhumane treatment and torture is considered "normal" inside the walls.
Half of his time is in four prisons in Mexico City and the remainder on the notorious Islas des Marias. In a place seemingly without hope, he achieves the impossible via strength, faith and transformation of awareness. His ability to quickly learn the culture and language helps him befriend fellow prisoners and amuse his captors.
Tom also meets and falls in love with Adriana, the prison psychologist, who with the help of the Norwegian embassy obtains his release. The title signifies the “Mirror” he sees himself in and the “Maze” he travels through to arrive at the exit.
